From January 30 to February 1, 2026, Mr. Jean Baghboudarian, our IB Diploma Coordinator, traveled to Dubai to participate in an intensive professional development workshop in Dubai. Organized by Ibicus, a renowned provider of IB training, the three-day event focused on a critical milestone for any IB World School: the upcoming program evaluation.
The workshop offered a unique, intimate setting for high-level collaboration. Mr. Baghboudarian was joined by four other DP coordinators representing diverse international schools from across the globe. Under the expert guidance of Mrs. Cristina Martin, a seasoned leader in IB education, the group delved into the complexities of the evaluation process.
The curriculum was rigorous, structured into 10 comprehensive sessions spread across three days. Key highlights of the workshop included:
- Sharing Best Practices: Coordinators exchanged real-world strategies for curriculum alignment and student support.
- Evaluation Preparedness: Mrs. Martin provided direct advisement on the specific steps schools must take to successfully navigate the evaluation visit.
- Quality Assurance: The sessions focused on self-study techniques and gathering evidence to demonstrate a commitment to the IB’s high standards.
This professional development ensures that our school remains at the forefront of IB standards. By engaging with global peers and learning from industry experts like Mrs. Martin, Mr. Baghboudarian has returned with a clear roadmap to lead the CTI IB faculty and students through a successful evaluation cycle.
